Sojourner Privacy Policy

What Sojourner is
Sojourner is a lodge-visitation game. During the pilot, the app runs entirely on your device: there are no player accounts, no sign-in, and no Sojourner server collecting your activity.
Data stored on your device
Your profile (display name, home lodge, origin point), your check-ins, points, and settings are stored in your browser's local storage on your device only. Sojourner does not receive a copy. Clearing your browser data, or using "Reset everything" in Profile, erases it.
Location
Location is used only on your device, only when you tap a location button (check-in, origin fix, or "distance from current location" sorting), to confirm you are near a lodge hall and to compute distances and point bands. Your location is never transmitted to Sojourner or any third party by the app, and no live map of players exists or will be published.
Photos
Check-in photos (an exterior photo of the lodge sign or front door — never anything inside a tyled lodge room) stay on your device during the pilot. They are used only to compose your share card when you choose to share it.
No data sale, no tracking
We do not sell personal data. The pilot app contains no analytics, no advertising trackers, and no third-party SDKs.
Advertising
The app shows a rotating banner of house messages and direct-sold sponsorships from Masonic-friendly businesses. Sponsors receive no data about you. An optional ad-free subscription removes the banner.
Leaderboards (preview)
Rankings shown in the pilot are demonstration data. When real leaderboards launch they will be opt-in, and the "nearby" board will show only rank and a points band for other players — never names, home addresses, or live locations.
